Lily loves gardening and being outside.
She loves to pick her own ripe cherry tomatoes and strawberries, snow peas, beans, celery, carrots from our garden ( when in season ).
She loves watering the seedlings and plays with all the frogs and insects.


She is a very happy and energetic toddler.

We have just started attending a kindergarden ( for 3-4 year olds) 3 days a week!!

About Me
My Life:
I am a proud Mother, excited to be a new Author and a Horticulturalist.

Becoming a mother is the most wonderful and life altering experience I have ever been through.

Becoming a mother has inspired me, motivated me, challenged me, surprised me and filled my life with such joy and happiness.

I really love being a mother and also meeting other mothers. I believe there is so much we can all share with one another.

I put on alot of weight when I was pregnant with my daughter Lily and after I had her went through depression, frustration at all the excess weight I was carrying and just felt exhausted and awful most days.
Until I started going for walks with my baby in her pram/carriage. Something so simple yet it made such a difference to my life. My blogs here share my story, they give a glimpse into the book I was inspired to write to share my experiences with other mothers.
Its a book by a mother for mothers, about my story, my weightloss after having my baby and getting through my depression while boosting my self confidence and learning to take some 'me time' each day and it also has gardening advice to get growing your own fresh veggies at home and getting children involved in the whole experience and lots of my healthy, family friendly ( with notes for adapting each dish for toddlers), cheap to make recipes that you don't need to be a chef or have hours of spare time to make!

My life has taken on such vibrance, love and energy since becoming a mother and then embracing a healthy lifestyle which inspired me to follow my lifelong dream and passion to be a writer with the release of my first book, The Pram Diet March 2nd 2009 , which is published by Random House. I am living proof though that you can become more positive and lose those stubborn baby kilo's and it dosen't have to be a struggle or hardship to do it.You don't need to starve yourself, find babysitters or spend lots of money, you just need you, your baby and to get going!



I am also so passionate about raising awareness of and the importance of support with post partum/natal depression and how it IS ok to go through this and it is very common and you are not alone in the experience and feelings, you just need to reach out to your support network, other mothers and health professionals.

There is an important link between an active and healthy lifestyle and having more energy and happiness each and every day and feeling less overwhelmed or stressed out.

Losing weight in a healthy balanced way also helps you to take control, reduce stress and feel good about yourself.


I lost over 30 kilo's (~66 pounds) and become more positive, less stressed and full of energy each and every day and a positive role model to my little girl and if I can do it, someone who has never been a particularly healthy or active person in the past-anybody can because I really am anybody!

I love being a mother more than anything in the world and really enjoy meeting other mothers and am also very passionate about promoting healthy lifestyles and creating and making healthy foods that taste great for kids.

I believe the best asset we can give our children is the tools to lead a healthy and active lifestyle themselves and the best way of doing this is by living a more healthy lifestyle ourselves, which is not only being a positive role model but also importantly taking care of ourselves as well.


My Inspiration:
I am inspired by my wonderful daughter Lily every single day, in so many ways and words cannot express the happiness she brings to my life....

I am also inspired by ALL MOTHERS everywhere and all the great many people who leave the world a little better for having been in it.

I am inspired by my own inner strengths, abilities and dreams that for so long I didn't know I had or would let shine.
My Interests:
Everything and anything to do with being a mother.

Meeting other mothers and inspirational and interesting people.

I believe EVERYBODY has a story and I love to share mine to help and inspire others.

Gardening and growing your own organic fresh fruits and vegetables and getting your children involved in the whole experiance wether it be at home, school, church or through a community group. Teaching gardening classes and groups, meeting other gardeners, anything to do with gardening!

Healthy living. Being fit and active. Feeling energised and having a bounce in your step every day. Finding fun and exciting ways to exercise. Meeting others interested in health and fitness and meeting people in the health industry.


Enjoying life and having a laugh everyday. Laughter and joy is the base to a wonderful life!

Getting out in the fresh air as much as possible.
Going for walks with my little one. Promoting good health in my local community.
Spending time with family and friends.
Having a creative outlet can be such a "release" in the busy lives we all lead, its stimulation, fun and fufills your creative side. I enjoy; writing, reading, cooking, baking, making jewellery, computer games, puzzles and all sorts of arts and crafts.

I love hand made products and items, homemade foods, preserves and goods. Natural products.
Getting out of the house and enjoying the refreshing stimulation of the outdoors; camping, exploring nature, waterfalls, forests, rivers, caves, mountains, historical sites, interesting places, seeing the beauty that is all around us.
