I am 37 weeks pregnant now and the pelvic pressure has been going on for about 2 or 3 weeks now. It has been getting progressively worse over the past few days, almost to the point to where I can barely get out of bed sometimes it hurts so badly. At my last appointment this past Monday my doctor told me that she didn't think I would make it until the next week to my next appointment without going into labor because of the position of the baby and how bad the pressure is for me. She didn't check my cervix or anything though. My question is, how long or how does this relate to going into labor? Will I go soon, or is it just one of those things? (I am not trying to go into labor early. I am just wondering!)

It could still be weeks. My baby's head has been down since my 28th week appointment, but I felt pelvic pressure since before then, proabably around 25 weeks. I'm 34 weeks, head is still down and still have a lot of pelvic pressure. When I need to get up to use the bathroom in the night I can hardly stand up it gets pretty bad.

This pelvic pressure is quite normal, particularly if you are only small yourself. It doesn't directly relate to labour but it does show that your baby and body is preparing to deliver, which as MommaJenn says could still be weeks. By now your baby will likely be well into your pelvis causing the small bit of cartilage at the front of your pelvis to stretch (Pubis symphysis dysfunction) again this is something some mothers experience in pregnancy. Your midwife/doctor would not check your cervix unless you were experiencing any pain, bleeding or a combination of signs of early labour. I think you are very lucky to have this so late in pregnancy, it can start as early as 16weeks, mine has been like this since 20 weeks and like mommajenn there are times when I find it almost unbearable to walk.
You can get a support belt to help with this but as you are so late into pregnancy it is likely you would have had your baby by the time you were measured and fitted for it.
Hope that helps :~)

It is very normal to feel pelvic pressure, especially this close to your due date. The likelihood of your going into labor cannot be predicted based on the pressure you are feeling. I know it is hard to wait because of the many discomforts you are feeling, but the next few days or couple of weeks will be past before you know it, and your baby will be here. Just try to look forward to having your baby with you, and let your doctor know when the first signs of labor occur. We wish you all the best. Please keep us posted!

Thanks ladies! One more question though, is it normal to hear/feel a popping in my groin whenever I sit up from a lying down position?

The hormones of pregnancy cause your ligaments to be somewhat looser than normal, so it would not be surprising to have "looser" joints. If it persists and bothers you, ask your doctor about it.
