While many people do not choose to have their babies quite so close in age, there can be great benefits to having children very close together. It will be especially important for you to take care of your self during this new pregnancy by eating well and getting good prenatal care. Below are some links to websites that discuss various issues related to this situation. There is also a bellyHood group for moms with children close in age that you might want to join so that you can communicate with others who share what you are experiencing. Though you might have some frustrations and some days when you need a break, you will no doubt find that your children bring you great joy and are very close and loving with each other. We wish you all the best with this coming new baby. Please stay active on bellyHood and keep us posted about your family.

You need to make sure you are eating very well. With your pregnancies so close together you can have low iron, vitamin D, calcium etc. You should speak with a nutrionist to make sure you are getting enough vitamins to make sure the new baby and you are not anemic or lacking in vitamins.

I got pregnant with my second child when my first was 10 1/2 months old and I didn't have any problems....you should take good care of yourself like you do with any pregnancy.

Hey there....My youngest son and my daughter are only 13 months apart from each other. My son was only 4 months old when we got pregnant again, with our daughter. I had no complications and NO problems, other then stress from an unrelated outside source (my husband's ex gf was causing major turmoil). Other then the stress from that, I had a great pregnancy. And giving birth was a snap because I had just done it not so long before that! The only thing that stressed me out in the beginning was all the diaper changes....it took a minute to get used to, but once I did, everything was a snap!

And now, my youngest son and my daughter are best friends.....partners in crime...they do everything together and really care for each other!

I think you will be fine, and good luck!
