When I go swimming, about the only thing I don't do is jump into the water are dive. I still do laps and Once and awhile I swim under the water for a few seconds, If you start to feel overwhelmed like any other exercise stop in go drink some H2O and don't over do it..

If you are healthy enough to exercise, there is no reason I know of not to swim or go under water when you are pregnant. I would not recommend deep sea diving, or going deep under water because of the pressure, but normal swimming should be no problem. In later pregnancy I would avoid swimming in deep water just to be sure you are close to shore or to the edge of the pool in case you tire or lose your balance. Stay safe and always swim with a buddy. :-)

You and your baby will be fine. Whilever you have enough oxygen then so has your baby. If you run low on oxygen then you will naturally get yourself to the surface to breath.
