Do you truly feel appreciated on Mother's Day by your husband/boyfriend and family?

I just have not lately. I feel like I do everything. I think it is a harder job to be a mom then to go off to work. I think that is why so many moms choose to go to work and dump their kids in daycare. I just don't feel I get credit for what I do.

I know the feeling. I feel the same way. I give my all and don't get much back. Guess you don't know what your parents sacrificed until you are a parent yourself.

This is an ongoing thing in my life. I know exactly how you feel.

I have to say I have a really great husband. He does appreciate everything that I do, and is constantly telling me so. Now Marcus is a different story, but he can't really talk, so I just assume he appreciates me. LOL

First - I understand what you mean about not feeling appreciated. It seems we're expected to do EVERYTHING and we don't even get a Thank You for it. I'm exhausted some days and don't feel like doing all the dishes so I'll leave them for my husband and then he acts like I just don't do anything. Ridiculous.

Second - Your statement "I think that is why so many moms choose to go to work and dump their kids in daycare" really hurts me. I would give an arm to be able to stay home with my child but I just can't afford it. Instead I'm forced to work 45+ hours and cover all the motherly duties around the house. I still do all the laundry, cooking, dishes, dusting, vacuuming etc. without the joy of getting to spend extra time with my son.

For the most part, yes. If I don't, I let my hubby know and he starts to show it more.

Dont let that hurt you, be proud of yourself :) Your son will grow up appreciating the fact that his mommy not only worked, but still did everything for him that a stay at home mom does. Although my man makes great money, I will take maturnity leave, and I will go back to work (and I go to school full time). I am not "dumping" my child on daycare, but instead my mother, and my little sister (whom I support) will be watching my son when Im at work.

Every woman deserves to be appreciated, so to everyone here, Happy Mothers day!
