During my first pregnancy I was SO HAPPY that I did not get a single stretch mark on my belly. Now with my #2 I can tell they are TOTALLY creeping in. I am literally covering myself in cocoa butter to try to stop them but it does not appear to be working at all. Does anyboy know of any good products that they may have used that helped in preventing or minimizing the stretch marks? Also, does age matter? Meaning, is it true that the older you get the worse the stretch marks? I heard something about elastin levels in your skin drop as you get older...

I had only a few one my side, but within the last month i just "popped out" and then got covered in them!! I used cocoa butter and also bio-oil through out the pregnancy so they dont really help. Im still using bio-oil now to try and help them fade quicker im hoping!

I have been using Palmer's Cocoa Butter Pregnancy Formula lotion with Elastisin and Collagen in it. I pile it on every time I get out of the shower.... I haven't gotten any strechmarks on my belly yet and I am 37 weeks. I've been using this lotion since the beginning of my pregnancy. However, on the parts of my body that I did not use the lotion, I did get strehmarks! =( I really think that this product works very well--- just put it all over when you use it though!

I have none yet, but i am only 25 weeks...but i do lather my whole body in the palmers coco butter... even on my legs and everywhere just in case. Now sometime i do take a bubble bath with alittle of baby oil in it. My mom did that with all three of us and has NO STRETCH MARKS at ALL!!!

The reason people get stretch marks the majority of the time is because your skin is stretching faster than it can keep up so it is almost like the collagen is tearing where you see the stretch marks.....Cocoa butter has helped diminish the stretch marks i had from both of my previous children....and it has helped me not get as many this time around....although i'm only 26 weeks....

I have breastfed both of children for 2 years (not at same time thankfully!) and this magically cured all of my stretch marks. I have heard this before as the best natural way to get the body back into shape, especially to lose the blubber which motherhood can bring :)
