More futher along than you think

Topics: 1   Posts: 0
So last week I was at the doc's and I was 33 weeks. The doc said my son weighed about 5 lbs which is about .75 lbs more than he should be... does that mean I can be more further along? I asked my doc and he didn't want to give me a straight answer. But like most woman that go to the hospital to find out how far along they are doc's figure out there due date by there last menstral cycle and measuring the baby. Me on the other hand havn't had my period since I July of last year for whatever reason. So what do you guys think can I be further along??

You could be further along, or you could just have a bigger baby.

The doctors cant really determine the true weight of the baby untill it is here. They are doing a educated guess when they try to determine how big the baby is. I think I was around 33 weeks and they told me my baby was 6lbs then a few weeks later they said she was around 5 pounds.  I asked how come the weights were off by so much and thats when I was told that they are guessing the weight by measuring different parts of the baby from the ultra sound so your baby might not be as big as you think.

The ultrasound and measuring cannot determine the size or weight of your baby. No one can tell by looking either. The most correct determination is to take the first day of your last period and count forward 42 weeks if you are a first time mother. Waiting until labor starts normally and naturally on it's own will give you the healthiest baby and you will have a faster recovery. Estimated due dates are always off by at least 10 days. Your body knows the exact time your baby is ready and all the finishing touches have been completed. Congrats and best wishes, Gail

they wouldnt be able to have a correct answer now if you are further along or not because ultrasounds in the first trimester are the most accurate. every baby grows at a different pace. and also they told my friend that she was having a 10 pound baby she came out weighing 7 pounds
