Placenta Previa

Topics: 52   Posts: 167
Hello Ladies!

I had my first ultrasound for this pregnancy Monday. I was 18 weeks and 1 day at the time. We found out we're having a girl which is very exciting and she looks perfectly healthy! The ultrasound tech. said that I have a mild case of placenta previa. She showed me what she was talking about and apparently the edge of the placenta is covering my cervix. She said I would need to be on "Pelvic Rest", no hanky panky or bike riding or anything that could "upset" the placenta. I had bleeding at 9 & 11 weeks of my pregnancy and she told me this was probably why. She reassured me that it should most likely correct itself as the pregnancy continues and we'll do another ultrasound around 30 weeks.
I'm just curious if anyone else has had experience with Placenta Previa and what they're outcome was. If it continues past 30 weeks I'm told it could be an issue.

yeah I had this when I was pregnant. It actually corrected itself all on its own. I remember being so worried back then, I was afraid too that it wouldn't move, but after 2 or 3 months it corrected itself. Try not to worry to much hun. Just try to take it easy though. Everything the tech told you is what they told me when I had my ultrasound. Another friend of mine's wife had the same issue and hers corrected itself as well after a couple of weeks. Congrats on the pregnancy! How exciting to be having a little girl!! =)
