The dilation of your cervix has nothing to do with the position of the baby. Many women go for several weeks with a 1cm dilation (fingertip size opening) in the cervix. Ask your doctor at your next visit to tell you the position of your baby. At any point in your pregnancy from now on, the baby may turn into head down (cephalic) position, getting ready to drop in preparation for birth. Your doctor will let you know at what point he feels that the baby is settled into position. Even if your baby is breech now, he may still turn. :-)
