I carried low so I never noticed that she dropped but I heard you just feel pressure and your bump looks lower.

Many women notice a feeling of relief in the upper chest (easier to breathe), and a new sense of pressure in the pelvis. Some can see a difference in their shape (baby seems to be carried lower); others never feel the baby drop. A baby "drops" more frequently in first pregnancies; often with later pregnancies the baby does not drop until labor is underway.

Both my doctors told me you'll know by a pressure sensation around your pelvis and your hips will feel more achey.
Emily has yet to drop for me, she is still content on my right side with her head nudged underneath my ribs.
