Never. You're not suppose to put rice cereal in bottles. Sometimes it's suggested when a baby has bad reflux, but I still would never do that. A bottle is for liquids only. Rice cereal is a starter food. It should be fed by spoon only to help a baby learn to eat solids. Most people who use rice cereal do so because it's cheaper than other baby foods so they don't waste a lot when baby is just learning. A baby has an open gut until 6 months old, so it is best to wait until baby is that old. Some Doctors recommend 4 months old, but there are no studies indicating that a baby's digestive tract is ready at 4 months. There are studies indicating that it isn't ready until 6 months. You should wait for cues that your baby is old enough for solids. Baby can sit up by themselves, is watching closely when you eat and is trying to grab for your food, etc.
