Well I am 31 weeks pregnant, but even before I was pregnant I have gotton bad anxiety.. I have been getting it bad now since last October. Now before I got pregnants The doctors told me that I was depressed and That I need to see someone and be on anti-depressents.. I was like what!!! like the way I feel when  I have my anxiety is my heart races really face and then I start thinking about all different things and I get light headed ( I think only bc my blood pressure goes up so high) But I didnt think in anyway I was depressed.. Well I tryed the pills and it made it happen more and I felt more depressed. So I stopped.

Well Now I have been pregnant just these last few month I have been getting it bad again. It scares me just because is it effecting the baby at all????

The reason I am writing these anyway is bc When I get The anxiety is when I am around ppl that I normally aint around or large crowds or when all eyes are on me. Now My Baby shower is this saturday and I am already feeling weird about everything..

I just don't know what to do bc everyone is there for me and it gives me anxeity... Now I am looking to see if anyone has ever had this or even any advice for me..

The advice ppl say to me is just calm down and you will be fine and dont think about it.. If it was all that easy It wouldn't happen at all.. I just hate feeling like this and dont want it ti happen.. Does anyone know what I can do??? I am going there early hoping that will help, but please anything you think may help thanks

I've had this, its called social anxiety. For whatever reason i would have the same thing happen to me whenever i went out anywhere or even when my own family would come to my house. I dont know how to make it go away all together and i wasnt pregnant when i had it so i dont know if it affects your baby although i'm sure it doesnt, but i would try talking to just a couple ppl at a time at the shower and say you need to go to the bathroom if you feel overwhelmed so you can calm down and try again. I'm sure if you dont think you are depressed that you are not. Social anxiety is most commonly directly linked to depression which is why they had probably told you this. the pills didnt work for me either i just had to work my way thro it with the support of somone i could talk to who understood. I'm sorry there isnt more i can say will help but i hope you're feeling better soon and that the shower goes well

I used to get anxiety attacks. I've been on multiple anti depressants. You should know that they all work different! I was on one that made me MORE depressed and anxious, and another that helped but gave me headaches and another that worked completely and I eventually weened myself off them....

It could be affecting the baby because I read the other day that if you are stressed (pregnant or not)  the baby will tend to lead a more stressful life too, and get stressed easier than others. My anxiety has gone away for the most part....  I know it's hard to relax in the midst of starting to feel anxious, but try to do what people said and try to not think about the situation. Try to relax and enjoy yourself. Focus on one thing at a time, and try not to take in to much at once.... take deep breaths when the sound or sights start to overwhelm you... and maybe keep something by you to snack on, to calm you.

Also, I don't know if you drink hot tea, but maybe try the "chamomile" or "bedtime" because they help relax you.

Good luck. Google ways to relieve anxiety to (non-medicinal) like breathing techniques or something. You're NOT the only one that suffers from this, so I can almost guarantee there will be lots of results about it.

Cause of my MS I get aniexty a lot but I have learned how to control it without meds but there are aniexity meds that you can take that are not anti depressents so they will make you feel better rather than worse.
