UGH...I'm just trying to past the time! I'm getting so cranky and impatient! Friday I had ended up at the hospital with false labor! SOO frustrating. I went in contracting regularly every 5 min (sometimes even less) and was 3 cm dilated. After hours there being monitered and with an I.V in nothing changed so they sent me home :( The following morning I lost my mucus plug..like the WHOLE thing, it fell out in a HUGE glob (sorry if TMI) and I got excited because I figured I may be dilating or effacing more. So 2 days later and STILL no baby :( No more regular contractions...just more of a constant feel of period cramps and an occasional contraction here and there. Tomorrow I have another dr. appointment so I'm crossing my fingers for SOMETHING..ANYTHING lol
This time around is SO different from my first pregnancy. With my daughter Liv my water broke in the middle of the night, drove to the hospital, was 4 cm by then, got an epidural and she was out 9 hours later. It was quick, easy and painless!
I am so bad at waiting and hate the unknown lol PLEASEEEEEEEE make me feel better. How did your labor go? How long did it take?

That does sound frustrating!
With Hunter I was 2cm dialated at 36 weeks. His due date was June 25, that came and went. On July 1 I woke up from a nap with sharp pains in my lower back. I went to the bathroom and had a bloody show. I went for a walk, went on my birth ball and just passed the time sitting in bed. Then on July 2 at 5 am we went to the Birth Center. They broke my water at 9 am, and saw a lot of meconium, but babe sounded fine so they didn't do anything about that. Labor was pretty intense and I was exhausted, but finally at 2:52 pm and 2 hours of pushing Hunter was born. Had to be on oxygen because of the meconium and I had a 3rd degree tear. Labor was almost 27 hours long from the first painful contraction until the last.

When I was pregnant I got gestational diabetes so I had to be induced a week early, I had went into the hospital Dec. 29 and they started the piction, I was in labor 3 days, the worst three days of my life lol, I pushed for a few hours and Jenelle wasn't coming out so I ended up having a c-section. After 3 days of misery I was relived when they said that I needed a c-section, I wanted that baby out of me right away lol.

My first labor was a mess... Here's the story: John and I were at a new born class at a different hospital than the one I planned to deliver at... on the way home that night, I felt like I peed my pants but since at this point in my pregnancy I figured I just sneezed and peed a little.. so I passed it off as no big deal and figured it couldn't be the baby it was 5 weeks and 4 days before my due date... when we got home, this happened 3 more time and I would go and change and come back in the living room... John said lets go to the hospital just to make sure everything is alright.. the admitted me to the maternity ward that night at 11:30 and hooked me up to an IV, and the fetal heart monitors... that was the longest night of my life.. The next morning my doctor arrived at 6:30 and did a swab to see if I was leaking aminotic fluid, which I was... so he decided it would be best for the baby to induce... he started the pitocion at 7am... I never felt any contractions until noon... We decided that I would wait for an epidural until 12:20 but by then it was too late... The contractions were a min apart and the baby started to crown... Elizabeth was born at 12:55pm completely natural. She was a perfectly health 5lbs. 9oz. 18in. although she was 5 almost 6 weeks early! My second labor story: On Friday June 26, 2009 at 8am I had a doctor's appointment to check my cervix to see if I was dilating yet or not. I was not, they told me that my cervix was just starting to thin and that they would see me Tuesday to check again and see if I had started to dilate or not. So I went home. I made an awesome dinner (broiled salmon, steamed broccoli, baked potatoes). Then around 11pm we went to bed. I watched Family Guy, like always, and then tried to go to sleep. At 11:47 I still couldn't fall asleep, my stomach was hurting. Since I had made salmon for dinner I thought, "oh great I didn't cook it right and now I've got food poisioning" so I spend the next 45 mins in the bathroom, not able to throw up or go the bathroom, but the pains in my stomach wouldn't go away and they were getting worst. Finally around 12:30am I woke John up and said, "I have the worst cramps, I'm in soo much pain" John was suprised, he said are you serious, are they contractions? I told him I have no idea it just hurts like hell. It's kinda funny looking back now... because I figured the pain would go away if I could just fall back asleep, how wrong I was! So John got up to figure out what was going on and what we should do. After sitting with me on the couch all balled up and almost in tears, John informed me that we needed to go to the hospital because he thought that the contractions were about 5 mins apart. We called his brother Kevin to come stay with Elizabeth while she slept and John tried to call the hospital to let them know we were coming. (after 10 mins of fighting with the automated phone system he gave up) By this time it was 1am. Kevin got to our house at 1:20am and we left for the hospital. The entire ride to the hospital was a nightmare! It was really foggy out so I was completely paranoid that John was going to hit a deer or something because I couldn't see the road. But John did amazing! Driving 70-90 the entire way, we arrived at Doylestown Hospital at 1:45am. John brought me to the ER, ran in, got a wheelchair, and they whisked me away to the maternity ward. At 1:50 I was finally on the Maternity floor and they brought me to a delivery room had me to change into a robe, which was nearly impossible because at this point my back hurt sooo bad and I was having the worst "cramps" ever! Once I was dressed they asked if I wanted an epidural, even tho I wanted to go all natural, I was in soo much pain I said YES! The nurse said she'd check to see how dilated I was and then call the anesthesiologist. She checked and informed me that it was too late for an epidural because I was 10 cm dialted. The nurses hadn't even put me on a monitor yet when I told them I had to push! There were no doctors on the floor and they said that I needed to wait until the midwife got there. No sooner did the midwife get gloves on but my water broke and John said he could see her head! The next 2 mins were crazy! I pushed once and her head was out down to her lips, I pushed again she was out down to her belly button, and one more push and at 1:59am Victoria Pearl Maiden was welcomed into this world! (according to John) The nurses were amazed! They couldn't believe how quickly I pushed her out or how long I waited to come to the hospital! They joked that if we had been 5 mins later she would have been born in the car! They kidded that it was a drive by delvery! But what really amazed them was that 20 mins after giving birth to Victoria, I was up and walking to the nursery to see her! She was so beautiful! All 7lbs. 5oz. and 20in of her! I was in love! Although I felt soo bad that her little face was bruised and her eyes looked like she had been in a brawl! They told me that it was because I pushed her out soo fast. It was amazing!
Guess I got lucky with the length of my labors... but with both, because I pushed so hard and soo quickly I had 3rd degree tears... With my first, I had 8 in. of tearing inside and 3 outside... With my second, I tore in two directions, I had one tear like an episodomy and retore where I tore with my first... :( The worst part about having the baby naturally is feeling the stitches after :( I'm still in the healing process now... :(

With me i went into the hospital 4 days after my due date "The 30th of october and had her halloween" I was only 2 cm dilated, just for a nst and they told me that her heart rate was low in they were calling my doctor to see what they should do.. Previously i was begging him to induce me because my mil was in town in wanted her to see the baby before she left, Will I get the news to have me admitted from my doctor. Will the hooked me up to the iv, "that took them 15 times of pocking me in the arm errr lol. and they gave me petc. sp? To help me dilate I went from 2 to 3 wooo, so 6 in the morning my water broke.. I called the nurse in she gave me something to help with the cramps in went on her marry way, Will 8am i woke up to several doctors surrounding my bed side explaining that the baby isn't doing will in they need to get me into the surgery room for a c-section "the scariest time in my life".. Im laying their in tears, Explaining i do not want to go through with a c-section, and they hooked me up to the epi. in were waiting for my doctor to show up, 8:21 am they had her pulled out.. She had a cut on her for head and I was hysterical defiantly something you do not se in the movies. It took me sometime to get over what happened and accept that I went through what i did, and be really grateful that i have the most beautiful little girl ever hehe. my prayers in thoughts are with you ***labor dust*** hugs!

sounds very frustrating. i remember being almost 42 weeks prego being like, okay, i think it's time now! lol. i was scheduled for an induction because she was in the belly far too long than she should have been. i never went through all of the normal stuff like the mucus plug or even my water breaking. i went into the hospital to start the induction process with the cervidil, which is a medicated string that is supposed to soften the cervix. about 10 minutes after they put the freaking string in, i was thrown into back labor because i was so overdue. i went into the hospital around 5 pm and was supposed to be relaxing but by 6 pm i was 5 cm dilated in extreme agony on account of the back labor. they had me jumping on the bouncy ball thing (doesn't work btw) then in the jacuzzi (a godsend) and then coached with the wonderful breathing exercises (i HATE being told when and how to breathe!!!) i got the epidural and then fell asleep and then i had her by 9:18 am the next day! i really hope your labor is nicer to you than mine was! lol.

With Nathan I went in to be induced, and it was pretty text book.. gave me pitocin, I dilated regularly, 10 hours and epidural and a tiny stitch later he was in my arms... With Hunter, Friday the 17th of August ( hubbys b day, due date was August 29th) I gave him his umm b day present.. LOL and I started feeling what I thought was braxton hicks, as usual after sex... then later that night we were in bed and the power goes out.. dude Im in Alabama , August is HELL on earth when it comes to heat.. I was contracting still.. not bad, still thought nothing of it, but was just MISERABLE... we got up the next day, Bass Pro Shop had just opened so we went to walk around and see what it was all about... had a whole day out, I was contracting all day, still didnt know it was real contractions, since I was induced with Nathan and I thought contractions hurt like hell.. Then that night, they got worse and worse, and on AOL I chat all the time with friends Ive known for years in a chat room.. was telling them abou tmy contractions.. everyone was like ehh Id wait yadda yadda.. and I too thought I should... they werent really timeable.. and from from what I could time they were like anywhere from 8-15 minutes apart.. but at about 12 am Hubby was like nah.. we are going to the hospital like it or not... so we go meet my SIL drop off my oldest son and head to the hossy, where I get the 3rd degree when I walk in and havent called my doctor yet... needless to say their attitudes changed when I was like 6 cm and contracting every 2 minutes ( I told them 8, I must not be good at timing) and that was about 1:30ish am and at 3:45 am Hunter was born.. LOL I did get an epidural, but it didnt work like it did with my first son, I felt NOTHING the first time, this time I felt half of everything.. literally I was numb straight down the middle, like split my cooch in half, half was numb, half wasnt.. but thankfully I didnt tear, and never felt any pain during or after birth.. actually had the nurses come into check on me and ask if my button was broke on the 2nd day because I never asked for pain meds.. I can only hope this time it will go so smoothly.. never again will I be induced without an absolute medical need for it... natural labor is SOOOOOOOOOOO much better!!!
