Okay, so I am having a baby boy June 9th, and I have been getting into the habit of watching the Family Network, and Teletoon, Treehouse etc.. and as I am watching this throughout the day I realized how much television has changed..I still see every now and then shows I used to watch as a child, but theres just so much out there. I grew up with Sesame Street, Barney & Friends, and ofcourse EVERY original Disney movie..Dumbo, Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, Pinocchio, The Land Before Time and such...and really though it did not hit me until yesterday when I was watching my 2 nephews who are aged 7 and 4, and I asked them if they wanted to watch The Jungle Book..and they just looked at me with dumbfounded faces. I was showing them our disney collection, and really they had no idea about any of these movies and did not have an interest in them. They wanted to watch Futurama??...and Recess??...It shocked me that they had no idea about any of these movies, what shocked me more is I was telling them about Disney World, and I have been when I was a child, but appreciated it much more as I was older, and they had NO interest in going at all, and right then I made a decision, that my soon to be born son, is going to watch Sesame Street, and Barney, and all the Disney Movies I watched, they are the classics, and great movies to learn from, I think at least...I just wanted to share this story, I'm sure a lot of you other parents out there grew up on the same thing, ... what are your thoughts on television for children today..not so much toddlers..but more young boys..7ish we could say
