If some of you are not familiar with www.familywatchdog.us, we urge you to take the time to look at it. It is the best resource in the USA! I am from Toronto Canada and my sister IN LAW lives in Philadelphia and we found over 20 Sex Offenders living in her area most of which were sex offenders who had violated children. We feel that this resource is as much needed in Canada as anywhere else. On this website the American people are invited to use this free service to locate registered sex offenders in their area. It is beyond eye opening and terrifying to say the least.
In Canada, the only public information we get as citizens about any type of sex/violent offenders is their release from prison and the area(which is very broad) in which they are going to be residing. This information is even broader considering it is not EVERY one of these types of offenders, it is only those who the RCMP deem absolutely dangerous and are pretty much a guarantee to reoffend.
If you agree and would like to support having access to this detailed information in order to take every precaution absolutely necessary to protect your family, children, grandchildren, etc then please sign this petition now and forward it to as many contacts as you can. When we reach a goal of 5000 signatures we will then take the necessary steps to present this petition to both the provincial and federal governments. (please put where you are from in "comments" section)

There are sites here in the US that you can go to, usually it is the local city or county sites that you have to go to in order to find out this info, and it is very detailed....it says in general what they did, like whether it be rape, or dealing with children or whatever it was, and where I live it actually gives you the Exact address of where they live and also where they work too....I think the reason that governments are reluctant to release some of it though is that there are some people that go and harass these people, however mostly they give all the info here, and at least in my area we don't have the kind of people that harass them, but I DO think it is VERY important for people to know how close they live to them, cause an older guy next door could SEEM very nice, but it is better to KNOW whether or not they have been an offender, but I definitely agree that it should be public info.

ohhh wowww yea its good how u bought up this subject......me and my friend met this guy who moved from n.y soo he said dat he did 12 years so u kno we ask him wat 4 he tells us he shot nd killed sum1 but it wasnt his fault so dats hows he got 12 yrs cuz he only got charged with manslaughter....so we didnt really didnt think anything of it soo me nd here was goin out and he watch her daughter a few times then oneday i was like i wonder if he ever raped anyone how he only get 12 yrs dat dont seem right so we look on every shooting in n.y in 1997 we found nuttin....he was such a nice guy did anything 4 us and then he told us we would never find him his is like 7 months later....so one day my other home girl calles me and was like yo you still be talkin 2 ****** im like yea she said what he tell u he got lock up 4 i said shootin some1 she said well he told me he did robbry but i wuz lookin on sex offenders and hes up there 4 1st degree rape and 1st degree isoneme i was sooo shocked like he didnt seem like that type of person he lied bout he name nd everyhing soo i kick him 2 da currb because that something really serious so i look at sex offenders all around me.....so i confronted him about he he tried saying thats an old case the girl lied on him and he still fighting it in court i why lie when it was updated n feb this yr and dais he got lock up for manslaughter,robbrey,and rap i was not born yesterday he would still b lock up n on top of that 1st degree he lien .......i just thought ill put that in there to let yall kno its that easy to b around sex offenders

yes it is important to be aware of...our job as a parent is to protect our children first! How can we do this job if we arent given the proper resources. PLease sign the peteition!
Redfoxcar - i am aware of lots of sites in the us thats what i think is so great, but they do a lot of americans only, what we need is a site for Canada please sign the petition!
